Resources...

What I intend to do in this page is to list various resources that can be helpful, including websites and journal articles. From time to time I will include unique resources like the very good Kiplinger/John Hancock DVD discussing the need for, and nature of long-term care insurance coverage.

My intent is to share useful information from a variety of sources — and to help educate readers about important healthcare issues. Your feedback will be helpful. I plan to update this page periodically.

Good healthcare websites:

www.medicare.gov (helps you choose the best coverage by zip code, as well as by the specific medications you currently use.)

www.KFF.org (a very good site for those who want more background or insight into important healthcare policy topics.)

www.departmentofinsurance.ca.gov  (the site for the state agency that licenses agents and sets standards for insurance companies operating in the state.)

www.DMHC.CA.gov (the site for the state agency that monitors health plans (as opposed to life insurance and long-term care companies….)
DVD is put out by Kiplinger and The John Hancock Company. I have extra copies if you wish to view it. It is about 19 minutes long and very thorough in explaining the nature and costs of long-term care coverage.
